Local’s Favorite Restaurants in Raleigh
The following are some of my favorite local restaurants to name a few (one of a kind with no franchise or chain). They are listed here in the order from the least to the most expensive. ($, $$, $$$, $$$$, $$$$$)
Abbey Road Grill and Tavern ($) – See Burgers and dogs Amante Pizza ($$) – This is a local pizza place that makes gourmet pizzaand allow clients to create their own pizza. The quality has always been consistent. It is similar to California pizza (chain restaurant) with it’s own twists.
Mellow Mushroom Pizza Baker ($$) Raleigh/Durham. This is one great place to eat with nice outdoor seatings (with mushroom decoration). Their pizza is unique in that it has several gourmet toppings. The food is always good and there is always a good crowd at this place.
Shuck’em Shack Oyster Bar(Seafood/American) ($$-$$$) 1177 Timber Drive East, Garner, NC 27529 (919) 772-7035 . Good food, cooked to order, fresh. Service is
prompt. The restaurant creates an atmosphere like Carolina beaches. You will forget that you are sitting in a restaurant right here in White Oak shopping center in Garner. Has good reviews from all places.
Squid’s Chapel Hill (Seafood/Oyster Bar) ($$$-$$$$). Another great local seafood restaurant in Chapel Hill. Decent food and decent ambiance
Second Empire Restaurant and Tavern ($$$-$$$$) – See Fine dining
The Angus Barn ($$$-$$$$) -See Fine Dining
Local Dessert Places
Turkish Delights ($) – This is a cute dessert place located in downtown Raleigh that serves Turkish dessert and pastries. The place itself is decorated with Turkish decor and theme. There are seatings both outdoor as well as indoor.
Amelia Cafe($) – This delicious dessert place is located in Brightleaf Square in Durham. It serves all kinds of quality desserts (tarts, mousses, cheesecake, pastries,
cookies, cake) , coffee and tea at a reasonable price. The atmosphere is also cozy and pleasant. You can also walk around the Brightleaf Square.
There are a lot of good restaurants that I cannot mention them all on this page..Visit Glenwood Avenue downtown and you will find great restaurants along both sides of the streets.
