The Second Empire Restaurant and Tavern($$$-$$$$)This locally owned restaurant offers fine dining experience in a beautiful setting of historic Dodd-Hinsdale house. It was voted the most romantic restaurant several times. The food is one of the best you could find in the Triangle Area. They also host Chef’s table events and Weddings. Their management team and staffs are courteous and their service is the best.

Magnolia Grill ($$$-$$$$) This husband-wife owned restaurant has been around 20 years ago. It was listed #11 in Gourmet Magazine, and Top American Restaurant.

Angus Barn on Glenwood Avenue

Angus Barn($$$-$$$$$) Another local owned restaurant nick named beef eater’s heaven, is known for their steak (all other dishes are delicious too). The atmosphere of Angus Barn is unique in the setting of a barn. The restaurant has won numerous awards and the chef at Angus barn won the “Iron Chef” award in 2006. The food and service is flawless and though it is not cheap, it is well worth the price for both quality and quantity.

Another Thyme ($$-$$$) – Another locally owned restaurant for 30 years. It also has good reputation for good food.
